EBUCore has been designed by the European Broadcasting Union to describe audio, video and other resources for a wide range of broadcasting applications including archives, exchange and production in the context of a Service Oriented Architecture
This is how it is recommended to encode ISAN identifiers into EBUCore metadata instances:

International Standard Audiovisual Number, ISO 16706, a unique permanent reference for each audiovisual work (not publication or broadcasts) centrally registered in the ISAN system. The versioned ISAN number allows to identify a particular version of a work (e.g. a special cut / format or particular language edition).
