Tip to retrieve a Series project waiting its first child
Due to the recent modification of the project status filter showing by default the Projects only, a Project series record (serial header) waiting for its first child (group or episode) does not show up in this view. It has no ISAN yet; therefore, it is not considered as a Project.
After the Project series record registration, the user may think the series “has disappeared”.
Awaiting an improvement of this status filter, simply replace Project with Waiting in the project status filter to display the project series waiting for its first child.
Tip to retrieve a project to deduplicate after “Update & Activate”
When a project ends up as a potential duplicate after the action “update and activate” it does not show up in the deduplication list of the menu “ISAN for projects" as it should logically, but in the deduplication list of the menu “New ISAN”.
Once you click on the work to deduplicate, you are back in the menu “ISAN for projects”.
Awaiting an improvement of the process, don't forget to check the deduplication list in the "New ISAN" menu if you can't find your project to be deduplicated after activating it.
Tip to resolve a deduplication when the duplicate is a Project not listed as a potential duplicate
(This tip works for projects and finished works)
Sometimes, a project or a finished work ends up in the deduplication list and it does not match with any of the potential duplicates.
However, the user is aware of an existing ISAN for this work, but the system did not detect it.
This is a normal situation when the existing ISAN is a project ISAN because, the Project metadata being confidential, the project does not show up in the potential duplicates list.
Therefore, the user does not know how to resolve the conflict and to reject the pending registration as a duplicate.
Here is how to do with this example:
Existing Project ISAN
Duplicate to resolve
Deduplication screen
To reject the pending registration, the user will select in the Actions menu, the option Is Missed Duplicate:
On the search tool, enter the existing ISAN of this work and click on Search:
And select the line and click on Select ISAN:
Click on OK to confirm the action when the following message pops-up :
Do you confirm that your application is duplicate with another work that IS NOT in the list of potential ducplicates?
