The in-dev ISAN metadata is only visible by the registrant, and the registration agency. Since audiovisual projects are relatively long (they can sometimes span over several years), an in-dev ISAN shall always be described with the most up to date "working" information. This will facilitate the in-dev ISAN management durning the whole project life cycle and help to prevent duplicates by authors or co-producers.
In-development ISAN shall be activated with final metadata once the project is finalised to publish the associated information and make it usable by others.
Search the in-dev ISAN to update
Click on the in-dev ISAN to update:
If you activate the in-dev ISAN, fill in all final metadata. Refer to Registration best practice for details on metadata values and formatting expectations for proper in-dev ISAN activation.
If the in-dev ISAN canot be activated at this stage of the project, update as much metadata fields as possible:
- Work Type, Work Kind, Color Kind, Original Language: are usually known
- Years: use your target production and publication years
- Duration: use the expected duration
- Title: use the working title
- Participants: Author(s) is usually known, add the expected director and cast if already known, ...
Save the data and keep the in-dev ISAN
Click on the button in the bottom of the last metadata update screen to save the updated information and leave the update procedure. The ISAN remains as in-dev until it has been activated.
Activate the ISAN
Click on the button in the bottom of the last metadata update screen to save the updated information and Activate the in-dev ISAN.
A message "The ISAN update request has been sent" is displayed.
At this stage, the updated information is sent for duplicate check prior ISAN activation.
the result of the in-dev ISAN activation will appear in the notification board on the home page. This can take a few seconds or a couple of minutes depending on the number of other parallel ISAN registration requests by other registrants.
